Native of the Bronx, New York I migrated to Whitmire, South Carolina where I attended Whitmire High School. Inspiring greatness and encouraging change has been my life's mission since graduating from the Coastal Carolina University in 2015 where I majored in psychology and minored in criminology.
Shortly after graduation, I began my work with at-promise youth at a level 3 residential facility. There I adopted the name Ms. Jenn and was privileged to serve South Carolina’s youth and young adults for 7 years as a Care Coordinator. While there, the seed was planted in my heart to serve children. Determined to reach youth where they were, I became a Behavior Interventionist for Justice Works Behavioral Care, SCYAP, and later an Early Interventionist for Family Ties and began collaborative work in the homes and communities of Horry County.
Understanding the importance of higher education to increase effectiveness, I enrolled into the University of South Carolina’s College of Social Work program in 2019 where I completed my masters. I have been graced to serve various populations such as children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, geriatric adults in palliative care, and adults with substance use disorders to name a few. Presently, I serve as a proud licensed travel social worker, It is my belief that every interaction can be a God ordained intervention. Moreover, I take pride in laboring at my ministry Door of Hope Christian Church in Marion, SC.
This village-raised social worker seeks every opportunity to positively impact the lives of those around me. It is my hope that this blog will extend the warmest of welcomes. Thank you so much for choosing to be here.
